Farel Prayoga went viral thanks to his ability to chant and recite the selawat.

Behind his experience in berselawat, who would have thought the 12-year-old boy was not a Muslim.

This was revealed when Farel attended a great acting with Gus Miftah in the village of Blangkon, Srono, Banyuwangi.

At that time, Gus Miftah, who was present as a lecturer, discussed the habit of reciting Farel Prayoga.

“Farel, have you already recited the Koran, Le? In how many chapters have you recited the Koran?” Asked Gus Miftah, quoted by Btd Channel’s YouTube channel, Thursday (6/10).

“No najja (no najja),” Farel replied in a whisper.

Gus Miftah was confused because Farel, who was good at selawat, even admitted that he had never recited the Quran.

“Well, you are not reciting the Koran? How come you are not reciting the Koran?” Asked Gus Miftah.

“Now you are famous, you started to have a lot of money, I pray that tomorrow you will become a great international artist, Amin, but yes, brother, why don’t you recite the Koran?” He continued.

Farel seemed confused in answering Gus Miftah who asked him to recite the Koran.

Suddenly a committee member approached Gus Miftah and provided information on a piece of paper that Farel Prayoga did not embrace Islam.

“Please, permission from Abah, information from the committee, Mas Farel is not a Muslim”, reads the information.

Gus Miftah immediately confirmed his religion to Farel.

“Oh, you’re not Muslim after all, Le. That’s fine. This means going to church. What’s your religion? Christian, Catholic or what?” Said Gus Miftah.

However, Farel was reluctant to say which religion he adhered to. Farel said that religion is a privacy.

“Mbuh (I don’t know). No, privacy, privacy,” Farel said.

Gus Miftah did not force Farel to reveal his religion. He advised Farel to continue worshiping according to his beliefs about him.

“Yes, I do. Anyway, whatever your religion, you must worship according to your beliefs,” he concluded.
