Fantasilandia Considers New Train Station to Enhance Park Access

Santiago, Chile – Plans are underway to potentially construct a new train station, provisionally named “Herrera-Fantasilandia,” to improve access to the popular amusement park. This initiative is currently in the evaluation phase, with officials examining land availability, community engagement, and existing transportation links.

Eric Martin, president of the state Railways (EFE), confirmed that the project is being assessed. “We are looking at the land, engaging with communities, and evaluating current connectivity,” Martin stated. The proposed station aims to offer a more direct and convenient way for visitors to reach Fantasilandia, potentially replacing or supplementing previous proposals for dedicated shuttle buses.

The development is seen as a mutually beneficial project. San Bernardo Mayor Christopher White highlighted the positive impact, saying, “Its a win-win; the park will attract more visitors, and San Bernardo will benefit from improved connectivity.” White estimates that the initiative could serve approximately 20,000 individuals, including local residents and those who commute to the area for work.
