SC Heerenveen experienced a particularly difficult preparation, but got the hang of it just in time. The Frisians waltzed over Fortuna Sittard in a period of twenty minutes on Saturday, could afford a lesser second half and are on six points after two games: the South Limburgers, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first point.
Heerenveen started with newcomer Jan Paul van Hecke and ran between minute 15 and minute 34 to a 0-3 lead, thanks to the duo Veerman-Veerman. Henk Veerman prepared the ball for Daniel Batista Meier, who scored the 0-1. Not long after, Joey Veerman used a penalty and Henk Veerman fired in the third goal of the evening.
In Sittard people honor Fernando Ricksen, who died a year ago on Friday.

Fortuna coach Kevin Hofland intervened heavily during half-time: Ben Rienstra (ex-Heerenveen) and Emil Hansson had to make way for Tesfaldet Tekie and Lisandro Semedo. The home team found new energy and put Heerenveen goalkeeper Erwin Mulder to work several times. Zian Flemming shot just wide and Semedo ran into the goalkeeper.

Fifteen minutes before the end, Fortuna still got his connection goal: Sebastian Polter worked the ball over the line from close by. Heerenveen seemed to be heading for a hot final quarter, but woke up on time and did not let Fortuna come close to a second goal. Mitchell van Bergen and Henk Veerman still missed good chances on the 1-4, but the three-pointer was no longer in danger.
The provisional Eredivisie leader will receive VVV-Venlo on Saturday 26 September and will then try to maintain their maximum score. The still scoreless Fortuna will play at home against AZ on the same day.
