After a sudden heavy thunderstorm, a gust of wind broke off the trunk and hurled it at the family. A mother suffered serious injuries and her children suffered life-threatening injuries. The children even had to be resuscitated. The family was lucky at first.
“Two doctors happened to be walking along the same path and came by and gave very good first aid and successfully resuscitated both children. When the rescue service arrived, the children were circulating again,” reports head of operations Jürgen Schütz.

As the police announced on Friday, the 8-year-old boy later succumbed to his serious injuries. The daughter is now out of danger. She remains in a clinic with her mother for further treatment.
