A rock fall interrupted the railway line between Visp VS and St. Niklaus VS on Friday evening. According to the SBB, the interruption lasts at least until 8 a.m. on Saturday. Replacement buses drove and there were delays.

The falling rocks fell on the “In den Kipfen” section of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn), as spokeswoman Andrea Rotzer explained at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. She could not yet give any information about the extent of the stone chipping.

There is no damage to people or vehicles. However, the rockfall damaged the catenary. (SDA)
