Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj calls Monday’s rocket attack on a shopping mall a terrorist act.

The attack on the shopping center in the town of Krementsjuk was a “rude act of terror”, the president said in his daily video speech.

– Only completely ruthless terrorists, who have nothing to do here on earth, can aim rockets at such a target, Zelenskyj says.

He claims that the attack took place intentionally and fears an increasing number of victims, reports CNN.

– This was not a mistake with rockets. This was a planned Russian attack on the mall. The rescue operation continues, but we must be aware that the losses can be significant, he says.

Doctors have been sent from Kyiv to help the wounded, the president said. According to him, there were over 1,000 people in the mall before the plane alarm went off and the rockets struck.

On Tuesday night, the death toll was 16. Furthermore, 56 were injured, according to figures from Ukrainian authorities.

Zelensky says he has sent condolences to the relatives. He also asks people to follow warnings from the authorities and seek refuge when the plane alarm goes off.
