Two individuals including an influential businessman were detained following a case of defamation of public figures via social networks in Tetouan.
–According to details reported by the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the two defendants are suspected of having published “degrading” content and sometimes including “screenshots” of private discussions of two local elected officials and other influential figures in the region.
At the opening of the investigation conducted by the police supported by experts, a first suspect was arrested in Martil following information provided to investigators by a victim. The young man, who confessed to being the one who published on false accounts, the incriminated texts, cited several accomplices including an event professional, indicates the Arabic-speaking daily, also signaling that the research is still underway for dismantle all members of the network.
