Facebook: After Bezos and Gates: Mark Zuckerberg now in the club of mega billionaires – economy

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (36) has made the next mega-jump: He now comes to more than 100 billion US dollars and thus rises to the ranks of “centimillionaires”.

This is shown by the updated billionaires list of the richest people in the world of the online business magazine “Bloomberg”. Zuckerberg is currently the third person on this planet to break the three-digit billion mark. He is now in the company of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos ($ 56.187 billion) and Microsoft legend Bill Gates ($ 64.121 billion).

In this year alone, Zuckerberg made a jump in assets of 23.3 billion US dollars – and DESPITE the global corona pandemic. For comparison: Gates added “only” 7.5 billion, while Amazon boss Jeff Bezos disappeared from all (plus 72 billion).

The current jump in wealth is due to the attack by Facebook subsidiary Instagram on the Chinese service TikTok. In the middle of the week the new feature “Reels” was announced, which is supposed to displace the competitor.

The concept was given advance praise: Facebook shares shot up by up to 10 percent. Zuckerberg, who owns 13 percent of the company, benefited directly from the cash boom.
