The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to operate with a budget of $13.48 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, marking a $269 million increase from the previous year. This figure, however, falls slightly short of the administration’s initial funding request.
A significant portion of the FAA’s budget,$379 million,has been earmarked for the Aircraft Certification Service. This allocation includes provisions for enhancing inspector training and bolstering technical expertise within the service.
conversely, funding for research and progress has been reduced by $50 million, bringing its total to $230 million. The Airport Improvement program’s funding remains consistent at $4 billion.
The proposed budget will now proceed to the Senate for review and subsequent negotiation, with the aim of reaching a final agreement between the legislative chambers.
