Not until the end of the second round did Captain Harry Maguire decide on Saturday’s FA Cup draw for Manchester United away from Norwich.
– I’m thrilled to be among the last four teams in the tournament, and it was a good training session for many of our players. It was also nice for Harry Maguire to score the winning goal, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær told BBC Sport.
The home team played the entire extra rounds with ten players after Timm Klose’s expulsion completely on the regular schedule. Still, Norwich and Alexander Tettey seemed to be coming to a penalty.
Odion Ighalo sent Manchester United in the lead from a short distance early in the second half, following failure of communication between Norwich’s midfielders. But the hosts struck back as Todd Cantwell knocked from a distance with about a quarter left of regular time.

Despite a big favorite stamp in advance, it took an awfully long time for Solskær’s chosen creators to create any of the hazards.
Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst was not gracious in describing United’s performance in a lucrative first round. He sent a verbal pass in the direction of Solskjær, and the choice to replace eight players from the team that beat Sheffield United earlier this week.

“Stunning lap and no surprise. Manchester United have struggled to get started. Too many changes and too many in the electricity supply that do not deserve it. Even Fernandes was guilty of trying too hard, ”Luckhurst wrote on Twitter.
He also pointed out that left-back Luke Shaw was allowed to start his 14th straight game. Luckhurst also called for Brandon Williams, who he thought should have been given the chance.

– Terrible
The first round in Norwich was a really long yawn, and at best contained only a few half-chances. In fact, none of the teams managed to score goals in the first 45 minutes.
Closest to Norwich and Lukas Rupp was just before rest. However, a heroic block from Harry Maguire prevented the shot from reaching Sergio Romero’s cage in the back.
“United have been so bad in the first half here that they couldn’t play at a higher pace,” said Viasat expert Morten Langli in the studio at half-time.

When a poster with statues from the match until then appeared, the expert fired even more.
– This is a football game we have seen, that is. Shots on target: 0-0, three corners, one offside. No free kicks will be made. It has been an absolutely terrible game of football. It has been extremely bad, Langli added, shaking his head.
Did not take the danger signal
Ighalo’s lead goal six minutes after the rest came as ordered, but was also somewhat easy-going considering how Norwich handled a slightly inaccurate post from Luke Shaw.
United’s tip, however, thanks for the gift. The Nigerian set up the score with a small acrobatic turn and shot in the same move, and the ball went over Tim Krul who was on his way down.
– He has the flair for scoring and the flair for using the right technique. That is not easy, Jan Åge Fjärtfoft praised in Viasat’s studio when ordinary playing time was over.
It should not hold on to advancement. Cantwell took advantage of passive pressure from the visitors to put 1-1 up. Some time before, Ben Godfrey had a free kick to goal inside the box on a dead ball, but the young defender was unable to reach a finish.
Just before the end, Timm Klose wore a red card when he dropped Ighalo in a dangerous position right off the field to “The Canaries”. A tougher United press led to great opportunities as the match had passed 90 minutes, but Krul saved extra passes with two strong saves.
The Dutch goalkeeper also held the ball out when Harry Maguire tested him with a dangerous header in the second extra round.
Maguire and United would still go out victorious in the quarterfinals in the end. In the 118th minute, the stopper threw the left foot inside the Norwich field and sent the crucial score.
