F1 2020 reveals gameplay video and more

Less than two months before the release of F1 2020, Codemasters unveils the first gameplay video of the game, interspersed with action images of Formula 1 and Formula 2, since both disciplines will be present in the opus. Accompanied by the official music of F1, composed by Brian Tyler, these sequences reveal some new features of the game, while others have been confirmed by the publisher, who notably addressed career mode and classic cars.

In the video, we see appearing the innovations present in F1 this year, like the AlphaTauri team or the Renault RS20, but we do not see the circuits of Zandvoort and Hanoi, even if we have already discovered the Dutch route in the game through on-board camera video. In addition to these new features, Codemasters details a little more about the improved integration of F2 within the career mode.

Present last year in the form of a short challenge to make a place in F1 against two rivals, it was mainly playable in fast play and multiplayer. This year, the promotion formula will be integrated into career mode and players will be able to choose to play a full season, a half-season or only three races before entering F1. The F2 of 2019 are visible in the video and the editor confirms that, like last year, only those of the previous season will be available at the exit of the game, before the 2020 teams and pilots are added during year.

Among the other information available, we finally know the list of classic single-seaters that it will be possible to use during career challenges, in multiplayer or in fast solo game. The first observation leads to a big disappointment, since the cars of the 70s and 80s have been removed from the game. The Ferrari 312 T2, McLaren M23D and other Lotus 72Ds will no longer be on the menu, and the game will offer 16 cars from 1990 ( Ferrari 641 and McLaren MP4 / 5B) to 2010 (Red Bull RB6, Ferrari F10 and McLaren MP4-25). In addition to these 16 cars, four additional single-seaters will be available in the Michael Schumacher edition. The game’s release is scheduled for July 10 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
