EZ figures for one of the largest producers of copper over 20,000 photovoltaic panels with a total output of 10 MW

The solar park is built by CEZ ESCO Bulgaria for the local branch of the German group Aurubis, one of the world’s largest copper producers. clean electricity from its own source will replace the consumption of copper smelters and refineries. At peak power on sunny days, the solar power plant can cover and increase the required power.

The ten-hectare solar park will be built in the next two years on the reclamation of the former sewage wastewater treatment plant near the town of Pirdop, about 70 km from Sofia. The area, formerly ironically called the Blue Lagoon by the locals, thus completed its transformation from an ecological to a production of energy. CEZ ESCO Bulgaria will install a total of 20,200 photovoltaic panels with a filled production of approximately 11,700 MWh ron.

In Bulgaria, we are implementing a number of interesting projects in the field of modern ESCO energy services. Although we are building our priority as a priority in Germany, Poland and northern Italy, we consider contracts such as this to be important for the development of our international know-how, said Jaroslav Macek, editor of Elevion Group, who oversees the ESCO activities of organic farms outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The companies from the group, specifically OEMs from Poland and Kofler Italia, which have had extensive experience with building photovoltaics, have cooperated in consultancy on a large-scale Bulgarian contract.

Aurubis Bulgaria, which is one of the strategic companies in the country, will cover an average of 2.5% of the consumption of mask smelters and refineries thanks to its own source of ecological electricity, during daily peaks during optimal weather.

This project is part of the company’s long-term investment program and is in line with the policy of sustainable development and transition to a green economy. The strategy is to produce 20% of electricity from our own renewable sources by 2030, Tim Kurt, CEO of Aurubis Bulgaria.

The 10MW photovoltaic power plant project for Aurubis represents the largest installation of our own company source in Bulgaria and also the largest solar project we have implemented so far. We are pleased to be able to take part in it, and thus help another customer from a number of Bulgarian companies to combine energy consumption with the protection of the environment, said EZ country manager for Bulgaria Karel Krl.

During the three years of its existence, CEZ ESCO Bulgaria has 21 other contracts for the construction of solar power plants with a total output of 3.4 MWp, of which three quarters have b. In the vast majority of cases, it is a wall of the installation. One of the last orders is, for example, the large walls of photovoltaics with power 750 kWp for manufacturers of industrial packaging and textiles Thrace Ipona. In addition, it provides a decisive range of other modern energy services, such as heating and cooling, lighting, ventilation and industrial systems.

O Elevion Group

Companies providing ESCO services outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia are associated with the Elevion Group within the EZ Group. At present, there are more than 40 companies operating in eleven countries, which will implement more than three thousand projects of various sizes each year, designed to meet the specific requirements of each order. Among the services provided are e.g. modernization of energy and heat management, modernization of lighting, energy audits, construction of decentralized energy sources (cogeneration and trigeneration units, photovoltaic power plants, gas boiler rooms), air-conditioning installation, construction, operation, service and gossip of technical systems, energy dispute projects and many others.
