He said there has been an increase in dengue cases so far, though not a significant spike. It is suggested that various efforts to prevent dengue are made by the people of Tangerang city.

Among them, the installation of mosquito nets in the ventilation, ventilation of doors and windows so that mosquitoes from outside do not enter the house. As well as installing screens to prevent mosquitoes from entering at dusk, when most mosquitoes begin to circulate.

Other efforts that can be made are to protect yourself with mosquito repellent lotion or cream, diligently draining the tub or water tank once a week because it can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes because the Aedes aegypti mosquito can lay its eggs in the tub . Also clean any containers that hold water to break the mosquito cycle such as water dispensers, flower pots, and other containers.

Meanwhile, Tangerang Mayor Arief Wismansyah said he would further step up programs in the health sector this year in terms of using the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). One of the things that has been stepped up is the prevention and management of DHF.

“Going into the month of January, which has the potential for high rainfall, you need to watch out for diseases that may arise and spread awareness about their prevention. Like DBD, optimize 3M plus campaigns and jumantik cadres as well,” he said.
