Extraordinary news about the sentence of Milen Tsvetkov’s murderer angered the whole of Bulgaria

The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office is protesting the verdict in the case of Milen Tsvetkov’s death, the prosecution said. We remind you that Christian Nikolov was sentenced to 9 years in prison for the death of nbut a journalist.

Today, March 10, 2022, within the term established by law, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SGP) filed a protest against the sentence of March 4, 2022 of the Sofia City Court (SCC), by which the defendant KN was found guilty of by negligence a crime under Art. 343, para. 3, pr. 2, b. “B” in conjunction with Art. 342, para. 1, item 3 of the Penal Code and was sentenced to “imprisonment” for a term of 9 years, to be served under the initial general regime, as well as “deprivation of the right to drive a motor vehicle” for a term of 10 years.

The Sofia City Court found that while driving a motor vehicle the defendant violated the rules of the road and inadvertently caused the death of M. Ts., As the act was committed after the use of narcotic substances.

With its protest, the prosecutor’s office will insist that the Sofia Court of Appeals find the defendant guilty of committing an intentional crime under Art. 342, para. 3, p. “C”, ex. 2, para. 1 of the Penal Code, as well as to impose a heavier punishment on him.

SGP considers that from the evidence gathered in the course of the court investigation it is established that on 19.04.2020 the defendant intentionally caused the death of M. Ts., While driving a car in Sofia he violated the rules of the road , as a result of which he caused a traffic accident with the victim’s car, which led to his death.
