Slovan is a big favorite in the series and he showed it on the ice from the first few seconds. Specifically in the 33rd, when after a good push from Zig, he got to the Rapuzzi and opened the score – 1: 0. The answer could have come in the 2nd minute, but Lialka did not prevail in front of Peters. However, Slovan dominated in the opening third and was not stopped even by a power play. On the contrary, after its end, Takáč ran out of the penalty bench, Matoušek sent him into the raid and the bronze medalist from the Olympic Games in Beijing hit Bespalov’s rash. In the 8th minute, it could have been 3: 0, but Šotek’s stop was stopped by Růžička on the goal line. Slovan pushed in the next few minutes, he caused huge problems for the people of Prešov and they kicked one mistake after another. One attack after another fell on Bespalov and the guests could thank their goalkeeper for going to the locker room with only a two-goal deficit. Slovan won the first period on shots 29: 4.

The image of the game did not change after the change of sides. The “Belas” created a chance after the chance, and Bespalov liquidated them. The Prešov team settled in the zone for the first time in the 33rd minute and sent two shots at Peters. Soon, however, Sýkora’s foul came and it was played in front of Bespal again.
The home team made a series of quick passes, MacKenzie moved the puck to the right circle for Harris and he increased it to 3: 0. A minute later, he was able to add a fourth goal from the same position, the goalkeeper of Prešov excelled. With 36 minutes played, Takáča almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. And that was not all. The people of Prešov managed to dramatize the duel out of nowhere, when Michnáč skated with the puck from the right side to the left circle and hit Peters’ shoulder – 3: 2. Presov scored two goals in 42 seconds.
The home team collected the collected goals, they excited the guests and so in the third act a more balanced hockey was played. Michnáč was in the mood, but he narrowly missed in a good position, for a while he tamed Lialka’s shot Peters. With 48 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Rapuzzi, of Zigo, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors.
