PORTLAND, Ore. — In an attempt to curb the fifth wave of the omicron-variant coronavirus, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) reopened a massive testing and vaccination center at the Portland Expo Center on Monday.

The site offers the three vaccines, boosters and pediatric doses against COVID-19, without the need for health insurance and appointments are not necessary.

“We expect to administer at least 500 doses of vaccines per day,” said OHA communications director Jonathan Modie. “That said, the demand for testing has outpaced the demand for vaccines right now.”

Portland Expo Center, at 2060 N. Marine Dr., will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
