– Local media reported that an explosion occurred in a Korean company in Tianjin, China, killing one and injuring seven.
According to the local media, Jin Yun-mang (津雲網), the accident occurred at 12:50 pm (local time) on the 14th at the factory of the vehicle parts manufacturer Jessie Ai located in the Economic Development Zone near Tianjin International Airport. Immediately after the accident, the Tianjin Binhai New District Emergency Management Bureau and the Tianjin Free Trade Zone fire and rescue teams were dispatched to rescue. According to rescue authorities, by 3:30 pm, one dead and seven wounded were rescued. It was confirmed that there were no additional victims.
The exact cause of the accident is currently being investigated. Jessiei is a Korean company that entered the region in 2005, with a capital of 15 million dollars (about 16.5 billion won), and sales in 2019 of 180 million yuan (30.6 billion won), reported by Jangan Branch, a social media media run by the Beijing Daily.
