What are the Hop-on Hop-off buses?
- Hop-on Hop-off buses are private buses that provide a service specially designed for tourists every day. The principle: you board the bus (hop-on, in English), you get off at the stop of your choice (hop-off) to make your visits at your own pace, then you take the next bus to continue your journey.
- First big difference with city buses: the lines are specifically designed to connect the main tourist points of New York, from the World Trade Center to Harlem, via the Empire State Building, Times Square or Central Park. You can therefore go from one point to another directly, without having to change buses.
- Another big difference with conventional buses: Hop-on Hop-off buses are double-decker buses, like the buses in London. When the weather is nice and warm enough, you can then enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view from the first floor. A unique point of view on New York!

The red buses of the American company Gray Line provide 3 tourist lines in New York. You can obviously take them at will during the validity period of your Hop-on Hop-off pass. Here is the line plan:
How to book tickets for Hop-on Hop-off buses?
- To take a Hop-on Hop-off bus, you must have previously purchased a Hop-on Hop-off pass. You can purchase it through the New York City Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour booking module.
- Once payment has been made, you will receive a voucher to print and present on site at one of the bus stops. The agent will then give you your ticket valid for the chosen duration.
- There are 5 possible durations: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 4 days and 5 days. You can also book a ticket including Hop-on Hop-off buses and a Water Taxi cruise as well as 3 attractions to choose from a list of around 60 museums, places and excursions. Here is the list :
