portimao

Marc Marquez admitted his mistake to crash Miguel Oliveira Of MotoGP Portugal. He explained how he lost control of his bike.

Marc Marquez and Miguel Oliveira were involved in an incident at the Portugal MotoGP, Sunday (26/3/2023) evening WIB. At the third corner during the third lap, the Repsol Honda rider lost control of his RC213V and crashed into Oliveira (RNF).

Neither of them could continue the race. For this incident, Marquez was given a double long lap penalty at the upcoming Argentina MotoGP, while Oliveira was only bruised and had no serious injuries.

But Marquez himself suffered an injury to his hand, which he got after hitting Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac) just before crashing into Oliveira. The 30-year-old racer is suspected of having a fractured hand, which threatens his chances of appearing in Argentina.

“To be honest, I don’t think about Argentina. Today the most important thing is that Miguel is okay,” Marquez was quoted as saying Crash.

“Because I made a big mistake at the corner, at the start, and this triggered everything. I braked and the front tire locked. That means I released the brake. My intention was to turn the bike to the left, but the bike still lay down and I couldn’t avoid going to the side right.”

“I can avoid Martin, but I can’t avoid Miguel. I am very worried for him because his contact is strong.”

“I have said it directly, but I want to say sorry again for him, for his team, for the Portuguese fans. I have already been punished for that mistake with a double long lap penalty, which I completely agree with,” added the Catalunya rider.
