The criticism from political but now also academic angle of Flemish virologists, Marc Van Ranst in the lead, is growing. The strongest critic is Jean-Luc Gala, head of the Brussels Saint-Luc hospital. He no longer accepts that “absurd measures” are “destroying the economy and punishing the population needlessly”. He disproves that a second wave is raging nationally. His motto: “Extinguish local fires and stop unnecessarily bullying all Belgians.”
