Initially, journalists knew there was a bamboo construction supporting the surface of the track where electric racing cars raced during a media visit at the circuit project site, Ancol, North Jakarta, last Wednesday (23/2). The contractor explained the choice of plant material.
“This bamboo is for a kind of raft,” said the person in charge of the Formula E circuit project from PT Jaya ConstructionAri Wibowo, at that time.
He guarantees that the use of bamboo material has used careful calculations. These circuit builders are not inexperienced people. Regarding the choice of bamboo, this material is considered to have special resilience.
“Earlier the bamboo was (chosen because) it is resistant to water and it can be broken, it can be flat, it can be flattened,” said Ari Wibowo.
