LARGE-UMSTADT – In the hall with columns, an exhibition on the theme “Heavy lightness” will be presented until 4 December. Works by Elena Primavera, painting and Lothar Steckenreiter are exhibited.

According to the press release, Elena Primavera tried her hand: in painting and carpentry work, in the office and in the commercial area. You studied art history, romance sciences and philosophy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. Art, music and family are the focal points of her life, among other things she has traveled and performed all over Germany with “li ffigliole” and “Arro Barro” (traditional Italian music). Since 2008 she has been teaching oil painting at the adult education center in Bad Homburg and is represented in various exhibitions. In the exhibition “Weightful Lightness” her works stop time and overcome transience. A soap bubble lasts long enough to capture her existence with a camera. The realization in oil painting, on the other hand, is a long process and the materials used are quite cumbersome. Opposites dissolve.

After an apprenticeship as a blacksmith, training as a goldsmith and jewelery designer at the drawing academy in Hanau, Lothar Steckenreiter has been a freelance goldsmith and sculptor since 1985. From 1997 to 2003 he studied painting and sculpture at the Städel evening school in Frankfurt am Main . Since 1982 he has participated in various exhibitions with sculptures, installations, paintings and jewels.

In this exhibition he presents neo-constructivist works made in wood: sculptures made in one piece and rod connections; always looking for the inner language to express it. “Giving the self outer form in the second and third dimensions.”

The works are visible in the Sala delle Colonne until Sunday 4 December. Free admission. Opening hours are Friday 18:00-21:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10:00-18:00.
