At 3 p.m. the Vogel Gryff formation will arrive at the Congress Center on their tour of Kleinbasel. At this point, the exhibition hall will already be filled with 450 company brothers and guests of honor.
Not only the three decorations, Wild Maa, Vogel Gryff and Leu appear at the traditional Gryffemähli. “We have the 3E clique and the 3E choir,” said this year’s presiding master, Peter Stalder, the day before the annual event told Telebasel.
What happens behind the doors
Some speeches will be given at the Gryffemähli and a four-course menu will be served. In order to round off the food as best as possible, there is a lot of white wine and beer in addition to mineral water.

This year the vine is in the chair, on the occasion there is the wine straight from the barrel. “This is a barrel with 220 liters, it will be largely empty,” predicts Stalder.
The program of the event, which traditionally takes place behind closed doors, includes appearances and speeches, singing together and introducing the new members of society. At 6:20 p.m., the 3E clique will conclude the event with the Wettstein March.
