Isaac Argro was arrested yesterday as a suspect in the murder of Azsia Johnson, the mother of his newborn baby.
Johnson, 20, was shot in the head while walking her baby in 95th St. y Lexington Ave., just a few steps from the “Samuel Seabury Playground”. A man dressed in black barged in and shot him at close range in the back of the head around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Paramedics rushed her to Metropolitan Hospital but were unable to save her. The baby was not harmed.
Argro, 22, is the father of the baby Johnson was walking when she was killed. He was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, at the 19th Precinct in Manhattan. The news of her arrest was announced by on Twitter the New York Police Commissioner, Keechant Sewell, and Mayor Eric Adams issued a comment in the same way:
“Azsia Johnson’s family is suffering, they deserve justice and we will get it. I am relieved to inform New Yorkers that we have captured the individual we believe murdered this young woman while she was walking with her baby,” the Mayor of New York wrote.
