Evy Gruyaert, presenter (42): “As a child I thought everyone felt this way”
In the second episode of ‘Therapy’ Evy Gruyaert plops down in a therapy chair. She stares the viewer straight in the eye and says firmly: “I’m Evy Gruyaert and I’ve been in therapy.” At first sight she seems very confident, but there is a glimmer of despair in her eyes. “Of course that was exciting,” the presenter agrees. “It was already a barrier to knocking on the door of a psychologist, but witnessing on TV was perhaps an even greater barrier. You make yourself very vulnerable to an audience that knows you as someone cheerful. I also have a positive attitude, but that doesn’t mean I hop through a flower field every day in a pink tutu.”
