Evo Morales announces from Argentina his candidate for the presidency of Bolivia | Univision Latin America News

The former president of Bolivia Evo Morales announced that Luis Arce, who was his Minister of Economy, is the candidate of his party for the presidential elections that will be held on May 3 in the Andean nation.

Arce heads the formula of the Movement to Socialism of Morales in which he is accompanied by David Choquehuanca, according to what the former president from Argentina reported on Sunday, a country in which he has been isolated for more than a month.

The announcement of the binomial that will support the MAS party, unions and organizations related to the indigenous ex-president was made by Morales in a press conference in Buenos Aires.

This week, MAS sources had informed from La Paz that Choquehuanca, an Aymara indigenous, would be the candidate and that the Andronico Rodriguez coca grower would accompany them in the formula.

But shortly thereafter, the former governor tweeted that four precandidates met him in Argentina, and Choquehuanca’s team was suspended pending the approval of Morales.
