In the autumn of 2021, iPhones worldwide were equipped with a new operating system: iOS 15. A system that is anything but fully developed and will soon be ready for use. his third variant. But what can we all expect about iOS 15.3?

At the moment, iOS 15.3 is still under development and the software is being tested by so-called beta testers. Apple takes feedback from this group of people and implements it in the new version of the system. Until it is time to provide all users worldwide.

What can we expect from iOS 15.3?

iOS 15 has been available on the market for a few months now, but does not yet carry all announced functionalities. For example, the current system (iOS 15.2) brought us SharePlay, Digital Legacy and many more. iOS 15.3 will probably do this too. The question remains, of course, which features get the attention.

The hope is that Apple will finally take steps with Universal Control. This functionality makes it possible to make iPadOS and macOS work better together. For example, it is possible to control several Apple devices with one mouse and consumers can use one keyboard. We were expected to see the functionality last year, but that deadline has been pushed back to the spring of 2022. So the hope is that iOS 15.3 shows the first signs of a feature that will undoubtedly have an impact on iOS.

What problems are solved?

iOS 15.3, like the previous operating systems, will bring some bug fixes. Earlier, a major problem was discovered in the HomeKit API that could be exploited by malicious people. This puts users running iOS 14 or iOS 15 at risk. Apple is working on a fix for that problem with the current update. It was actually the intention that Apple would already solve this with iOS 15.2, but unfortunately the company has not succeeded. Until then, consumers are advised to remove the Home shortcuts from the control panel.

In addition to the above problem, with iOS 15.3, Apple will address other issues as well. When it becomes clear which problems these are, we will adjust this article.

When will iOS 15.3 be released?

We don’t have an official date for the launch of iOS 15.3 at the moment. We do know that Apple is testing the operating system, together with the members of the beta program. If we look at previous operating systems, and the time between the updates, it is not surprising to count about seven weeks. So, given iOS 15.2 was released on December 13, 2021, we could expect a launch at the end of this month or early next month.

How do you get the software?

When iOS 15.3 is officially rolled out for your iPhone, you can download the update via the standard way. So you do that to Settings -> General -> Software Update to go. When the new update is ready for you, you can download it and then install it.
