The Closing Tournament of La Liga Premium season 2022 starts this Friday, July 1 and is called “Tribute to Alberto Acosta”, who in life was a great leader and promoter of the discipline, whose name will bear all the competitions of the Divisional as a posthumous tribute.
The groups are formed in the same way as in the Opening Tournament as well as the dispute system. It is worth mentioning that the relegated teams will be the two clubs from groups A and B in a total of 4 teams, whose sum in the opening and closing scores are the lowest in the tournament.
A total of 14 teams participate, which are:
Group A: Cerro Porteño, Afemec, Villa Hayes, Star’s Club, Recoleta Sports, Santani Sports and Colonel Escurra.
Group B: Sport Colonial, Exa Ysaty, Deportivo Humaitá, Olimpia, Santa María, La Furia Villeta and Presidente Hayes.
The dispute system with 14 participating teams is divided into two groups of 7 teams and the competition will have 4 phases:
First phase: 7 (seven) dates, all against all and one team per group will be free on each date. The best 4 (four) of each group will qualify for the next stage.
Second Phase (Quarter Finals): 1 (one) date, in a single match. In case of equality at the end of the normal time, the best positioned in the first phase will qualify. The locality in this stage will correspond to the best placed teams in the first phase (1st and 2nd placed in groups A and B).
Third Phase (Semifinal): 1 (one) date, single match. In case of equality at the end of normal time, there will be an extension of 5 (five) minutes per time and if the result persists, it will be defined in penalties. This instance will be played on a neutral stage to be set by the Futsal Division.
Fourth Phase (Single Final): 1 (one) date. In case of equality at the end of the final match, there will be an extension of 5 (five) minutes per time and if the tie persists, the CHAMPION will be defined on penalties.
The Clausura Champion will have the right to compete in the Finals to determine the Absolute Champion for the 2022 season. In the event that the Opening Champion (Cerro Porteño) obtains the title again, he will be the Absolute Champion of the season and the Paraguayan representative for CONMEBOL. Liberators 2023.
