Even Prince Harry would have agreed: this dish is so good that men offer it to their wives | Sex and love

Back to 1982. The editor of the fashion magazine Charm gives a recipe from Italian chef Marcella Hazan to a colleague. “It was the tastiest fried chicken she had ever tasted,” so the colleague decides to prepare the chicken for her friend. Soon after, coincidence or not, her boyfriend proposes to her. The colleague passes the recipe to three other people, where exactly the same thing happens. Result: Charm bombs the plate at ‘Chicken Engagement’ (the engagement chicken, ed).

What follows is an avalanche of commitments. For example, the recipe, which you can conjure up on the table in just 30 minutes, would have brought American radio host Howard Stern and even Prince Harry to their knees. The dish, therefore, has long gone viral on social media with the title: ‘Marry Me Chicken’. (“marry me” chicken, ed).

But what does that chicken taste like, that the dish would also be so good to take to engagements? At least the recipe is simple enough. All you need is olive oil (or butter), chicken, chicken broth, some herbs, dried tomatoes, cream and a handful of Parmesan. If you want to make the real version of the American author Ina Garten, add garlic, onion and a little wine. Food network of colleagues call the “Get Yo ‘Man Chicken” version and switch to chicken legs, tomatoes and lemon pepper. Another ingredient that is often added: bacon.

Here’s how the recipe is prepared:

Ingredients for 4 people)

1 tablespoon of olive oil
4 chicken fillets
2 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon of oregano
180 ml of chicken broth
120 ml chamber
64 grams of dried tomatoes
32 grams of Parmesan

1. Fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
2. Sauté the garlic, add the chicken broth, cream and Parmesan. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes and season with chilli flakes, oregano, pepper and salt.
3. Add the dried tomatoes and return the chicken to the sauce. Cook and thicken for a few more minutes. Tip: you can also put everything in the oven for a while, so that the parmesan on top becomes crunchy.
4. Finish with pasta or rice.

That a man’s love really goes through the stomach has once again been proven here.
