The unemployment rate in Freiburg was 5% in November. Seasonal influences.
The number of unemployed in the Freiburg Employment Agency district decreased again in November. As reported by the employment agency, a total of 13,373 women and men were unemployed on the reference date in the city of Freiburg and in the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen. That’s 169 fewer than a month earlier. The unemployment rate is unchanged at 3.6%. For women and men under the age of 25, it fell 0.1 point to 2.2%. In the Freiburg urban district, 6,435 people were registered as unemployed, the rate dropping by 0.1 point to 5 percent compared to the previous month.
According to the agency, seasonal influences were decisive for the development. There were more unemployed in the restaurant business due to the end of the season. On the other hand, Christmas activity in metropolitan areas has provided some relief. In the weather-dependent professions, unemployment has largely not yet been reported due to the mild climate.
