More than two thousand players participated in a large-scale battle in honor of the player’s 42nd birthday under the nickname Chappy78. At the EVE Online forum, he said that doctors diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer, and experts predict that this birthday may be the last of his life.
The participants of the event gathered on their own Discord-channel Chappy78 – the player said that before there were only 17 friends, and on his birthday he was visited by several thousand people. EVE Online users, including both large faction players and developers, formed armada and fired a salvo from warships.
Chappy78 also noted that in all the zones through which he flew, the chat exploded with congratulations. He even wandered into one of the most dangerous areas of Uedama, where the space pirates CODE trades. At any other time, his ship would be robbed without hesitation, but the famous group did not attack the birthday man.
“I enter Uedama, and then suddenly – not joking – I am surrounded by about 20 guys. I had too many values with me to be in this system. They said, “Chappy, we want to be with you tonight and accompany you so that you are safe.”

The battle lasted several hours. Hundreds of billions of ISK were spent and destroyed along with several titans, the largest ships in EVE.
