Eva Jinek feels guilty about work life: ‘It’s an eternal battle’ | Show

Tonight Eva Jinek was the first guest in the new season of the Omroep Max program. She let her tears flow when she spoke about son Pax and how brave she thinks he is. She also spoke candidly about her switch to RTL 4, where she has presented her talk show since the beginning of this year.

“I knew under which difficult circumstances I had to get in,” said Eva. “But I also knew that I can count on myself. I also see it as a competition and I enjoy stepping into that arena. That does me good. “

But with a young family there is also a feeling of guilt towards those around them. “Everyone around you gives up when you have a job like that”, Eva explained. “Of course I feel heavy. When you are a mother, there is an eternal battle between guilt and your obligation to work. I see my job as performing top sport. Everything revolves around what I’m doing. ”

It was a clear choice, the presenter said. “I have discussed this with Dexter (her partner and father of son Pax, ed.). I said, ‘This is something we have to want together, otherwise it can’t be.’ ”And that means her job is always an emergency. “I always have a broadcast in the evenings and that precedes everything.”

Still, she thinks it’s worth making the choice and doesn’t want to ‘be pitiful’. “I have, I think, the best job on earth. I end up getting paid to talk to interesting people every night. I don’t know anyone with a better job. But it is true that everyone around me has to give up for that. ”

Eva compensates that if she has no broadcast days. “If I don’t have a talk show, I insist that I cook fresh food every day for my baby and also for my husband. As a result, I am cooking two dishes, which takes three hours. Then I could have just sat with both of them in the living room. ”
