Eurovision in Concert canceled due to coronavirus | NOW

Eurovision in Concert cannot continue due to the new measures taken by the government with regard to the corona crisis. For the event, which was planned on April 4, a large part of the participants of the Songfestival would already come to the Netherlands.

“On behalf of the government, the ban on events has been extended to April 6. At the moment, we are looking at all possible options regarding Eurovision in Concert. As soon as there is more information, we will of course report this as soon as possible,” the organization reports on their website.

It is not yet clear how many concerts and other public events can take place. Before this new measure was taken, the Association of Event Makers (VVEM) was already mapping out the numbers involved.

VVEM includes Ziggo Dome, AFAS Live, GelreDome and Rotterdam Ahoy.

  • An infected person infects two to three others on average. This number may decrease with proper precautions.
  • The vast majority of patients have mild (flu-like) complaints.
