This is the news that shakes UEFA and Europe. A dozen of the big clubs have agreed to complete the creation of a new very closed competition called the European Superleague. And it promises to make people talk in Europe.
It is a mega competition which is preparing to be launched and like a bomb, the journalist of RMC Sport Mohamed Bouhafsi unveiled the information which suddenly takes everyone. A competition between the rich whose founding members come from three of the five major European championships. If it were to be launched, it will be President Florentino Pérez.
The European Superleague is announced with three Spanish clubs (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid), three Italian clubs (Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus) and six English clubs (Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea , Tottenham). We note in particular the absences of the giants of France and Germany namely Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
According to Mohamed Bouhafsi, the competition will take into account a total of 20 teams including 16 permanent and 4 teams qualified with the championships. They will be formed in 2 groups of 10 teams. The top 4 of these groups would go to the 1/8 finals, culminating in a final which would take place over a weekend. The permanent members would receive 350 million euros.
Everything would already be in place with an imminent announcement in the coming hours. The event would generate, according to the documents, hundreds of millions of dollars in additional revenue for the participating teams, which are already the richest clubs in the sport.
