The Europa League resumes this week. MU itself is scheduled to play the second leg match of the last 16 against LASK at Old Trafford, Thursday (6/8/2020) early morning hrs.
MU has a great chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Europa League, given the match later Marcus Rashford et al have a 5-0 advantage savings over LASK in the first leg. The Manchester-based club is also predicted to be a strong candidate to win the second highest caste trophy in Europe.
Solskjaer as MU manager also spoke up about the chances of his team embracing the Europa League title this season. He did not hesitate to make the title as a target to be won by foster children.
In Solskjaer’s view, success in the Europa League will be the first milestone of his success in dealing with MU, as well as being the beginning of a new heyday for the Red Devils in the following years.
“This is incredible. You can see when Sir Alex won the Premier League for the first time, it was the beginning of the Premier League era,” Solskjaer said ahead of the duel MU vs LASK, reported from Mirror.
“When I won my first trophy as a player, it made me even more hungry. You saw the climax and knew how much that meant to everyone,” Solskjaer added.
“We are four games away and the team has grown this season. Thursday is happy to finish third in the Premier League, but the next step for this team is to win a trophy.”
“We’ve been to two semifinals this season, namely in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. Now we want to win something,” Solskjaer said.
