EuroBic hired SDO Consulting, a company owned by Paula Oliveira, a friend and partner of Isabel dos Santos, to provide services in human resources consultancy as an evaluation of bank managers and staff. SDO maintained a contractual relationship with the bank until the release of Luanda Leaks. Jornal Económico (JE) knows that the bank led by Teixeira dos Santos has terminated the contract after the disclosure of suspicious transactions by the Angolan businesswoman, such as transfers over 100 million euros, through the Portuguese bank, to Matter Business Solutions, where Paula Oliveira appears as the sole shareholder.
A source close to the lawsuit revealed to JE that EuroBic wanted to “remove reputational risks” in view of the relationship between Paula Oliveira of SDO with the Angolan businesswoman who is a shareholder of the bank, whose position has, however, been for sale. At stake are the suspicions raised by Luanda Leaks regarding Matter Business Solutions, offshore in Dubai, whose sole shareholder is Paula Oliveira, suspecting that Isabel dos Santos is the true owner.
