The reorganizing Etihad Airways has a total of ten Airbus A380s. The iconic aircraft, with room for 486 passengers, have been stationary since the beginning of the corona crisis. They were previously the flagship of the Etihad fleet. They are the only ones with The Residence on board: a kind of private First Class apartment with its own bedroom and living room.
Several airlines have already decided to phase out the A380 in part or completely, including Air France. They prefer smaller, twin-engine machines that are easier to fill and can be used more flexibly. However, this does not apply to all: Emirates and British Airways, among others, are very satisfied with the jumbo Airbuses.
