Estonia expressed readiness to help Ukraine with reforms

The Prime Minister of Estonia arrived on a visit to Ukraine. First of all, she met with Denis Shmygal.

The head of the government of Ukraine Denis Shmygal on Monday, May 17, met with his Estonian counterpart Kaya Kallas during her official visit to Ukraine, reported press service of the Cabinet.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of vaccination against COVID-19, Estonia’s participation in the Crimean Platform, countering hybrid aggression from Russia and the importance of exchanging experience in the field of cybersecurity.

Shmygal also noted that Ukraine seeks to maximize trade and economic cooperation with Estonia, and thanked the Estonian side for support in overcoming the pandemic and willingness to take an active part in the Crimean platform.

In turn, Kallas stressed that the policy of non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea is extremely important for Estonia and that Ukraine remains its largest development partner.

In addition, she added, Estonia is ready to support and help Ukraine in implementing reforms.

Recall Kaya Callas arrived in Ukraine the day before. Her visit will last until May 19. During this period, the head of the Estonian government intends to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, and also visit Donbass.
