Estelle Cruijff: ‘It is a trauma for life’

Two years ago, Estelle Cruijff was brutally robbed. The presenter was assaulted by three men in Amsterdam and because of the extreme violence, there were even serious injuries. At the time, Estelle responded via a WhatsApp message to RTL Boulevard that she was ‘pretty upset’ after this. “You can imagine that if you are attacked, beaten and robbed by three men, you won’t be left in the cold.”

Now, two years later, Estelle is still living in deep fear. In conversation with Robbert Rodenburg (21), she says that it is worse than a low point. “I can’t even call it a low point. I no longer dared to sit in a taxi or an Uber, or on a bicycle.” Robbert in turn asks how it affects her life at the moment. “I still look back, when a scooter passes by or someone follows me with the car .. I constantly look around. It is a trauma for life.”

The entire episode of Open Card can be seen tomorrow at 4 p.m. on Robbert Rodenburg’s YouTube.
