Essen. Essen company doctors would like to vaccinate, but cannot

At the Essener Unternehmensverband (EUV) there are increasing requests for help from companies that would like to vaccinate their employees first, second or boost, but do not have sufficient vaccine. “Many of our members would like to offer their employees a vaccination or booster offer, but are faced with organizational hurdles and ultimately fail because of the procurement of vaccines,” reports Ulrich Kanders, EUV General Manager, from the daily advisory practice. And further: “Smaller companies without their own company doctors cannot rely on existing internal structures and urgently need support with handling. Large companies with their own company doctors cannot order sufficient quantities of vaccine. “

The association has therefore now contacted the city of Essen directly and asks the health department to examine the possibility of vaccinations organized by the city on company premises and to offer small and medium-sized companies a vaccination offer, e.g. through mobile vaccination teams. Last week, Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen called on the Essen companies to advertise vaccinations among their employees and to enable them to be provided by the companies. “Our companies want to, but cannot. We now see the city as obliged to submit specific offers. Because we agree with Mr. Kufen that we will only be able to cope with the pandemic together, “concludes Kanders.
