Escape attempt ‘Mocro-mafia’ gangster Omar L. to court | Inland

According to the judiciary, on January 19, the four tried to create an opening in the prison fence with a grinder and bolt cutters, so that L. could escape. Images from security cameras show that L., when it failed to break the fence, makes a futile attempt to climb over the fence.

The four French suspects took off in a car when it was clear they would not enter. They left a fired van at the prison gate. After a search, in which a helicopter was deployed, the police were able to arrest the men. Three of them were picked up on the N813 near Wehl and one near Zevenaar. The French, ranging in age from 22 to 30 years old, are held in four different prisons across the Netherlands. They themselves have so far wanted to explain little or nothing.

Omar L. was sentenced to life imprisonment in June last year, for organizing and directing, among other things, two liquidations in 2015. His case is still on appeal. L.’s brother Youssef and a friend of his were shot in 2012 in the Staatsliedenbuurt in Amsterdam. This double liquidation would have been the catalyst for the violence of L. and his.

Omar L. has been imprisoned in the extra security prison in Vught since the stranded liberation attempt. The Zutphen prison increased security on the outside of the complex.
