Es Devlin‘s new film, screenhare, offers a deep dive into her creative process, showcasing sketches developed over 35 years. These include studies of London’s flora and fauna, portraits of her children, and conceptual drawings used to explore and communicate ideas with collaborators.
The film itself is an anthology, drawing from installation works Devlin has created over the past 16 years. Its soundtrack features an excerpt from An Atlas of Es Devlin, a record released last year in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory and Polyphonia.
This is not Devlin’s first collaboration with The Vinyl Factory. In 2021, she partnered with them to present BlueSkyWhite, a new commission that was part of the LUX exhibition held at 180 Studios.
The Vinyl Factory: Reverb exhibition, where Devlin’s work is featured, runs until March 2, 2025. The exhibition celebrates the synergy between art and sound thru 17 audio-visual experiences and installations.Visitors can also experience works by artists such as Carsten Nicolai, Caterina Barbieri, Stan Douglas, Jeremy Deller, and cecilia Bengolea. A notable inclusion is Devon Turnbull’s HiFi Listening Room Dream No 1, a dedicated space within the exhibition where attendees can listen to vinyl records on a custom-built, high-performance sound system.
