Eragny-sur-Epte. Incarcerated mom suspected of allegedly killing 5-month-old son with medication

Lyndsay Bessin, 23, mother of 4 children, in Eragny-sur-Epte, near Sérifontaine, has just been indicted by the judicial center of Senlis for poisoning her son, Luis, 5 months old, deceased at the Rouen University Hospital, April 22. She allegedly administered him, out of ignorance, inappropriate medicines.
In mid-April, Luis presented with respiratory problems.

At first, he is hospitalized in Chaumont-en-Vexin then in Rouen, where he died.

According to our information, Lyndsay Bessin, her mother, suffers from cardiological problems for which she is treated with Flecaine, a drug indicated for heart rhythm disorders.

However, the blood test carried out on the young child shows a level of this drug 17 times higher than the toxic dose. A drug which should not be administered to a child under 12 years of age.
Informed by the University Hospital of Rouen, the Saint-Crépin-Ibouvillers research brigade takes charge of the investigation under the jurisdiction of the representative of the Beauvais court. Beauvais lawyer Domitille Risbourg was quickly assigned to represent Lyndsay Bessin. In the current state of the investigation, she declined to comment.
Of the four children of Lyndsay, Vincent Synicia is the father of the last three. Aged 36, he owns butchers in Eragny-sur-Epte and Gisors. According to a source close to the investigation, Vincent works hard in his butcher shops and is not often at home.
Lyndsay and her spouse, Vincent Synicia, were taken into police custody at the end of April. The father is quickly excluded from the proceedings because nothing seems to be able to be reproached to him. During her hearing with the gendarmerie of Saint-Crépin-Ibouvillers, the young mother initially denies the facts of which she is suspected. When her son was hospitalized, she was present every day at the hospital. She finally admits having given Flecaine to little Luis, thinking that she was going to relieve him of his ills without imagining for a moment that this gesture could have killed him. She had gotten into the habit of powdering her treatment so that she could discreetly administer it to her son, in yogurt or in bottles. Boxes of medicines, including Flecaine, will be found in large numbers at the family home.
Since the beginning of May, after having been brought before the judicial center of Senlis, Lyndsay Bessin has been placed in pre-trial detention in Beauvais. The couple’s two children were finally placed with the grandparents. Lyndsay Bessin is presumed innocent. When questioned, the prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier has not yet followed up.
