Over 33,000 Jeffrey Epstein Documents Released Following Capitol Hill Meetings with Accusers
WASHINGTON D.C. – More than 33,000 documents related to Jeffrey Epstein were released to the public this week, following a series of meetings between Epstein accusers and members of Congress seeking greater transparency surrounding the case and potential cover-ups. The documents, originating from a lawsuit filed in New York, are slated for delivery to Capitol Hill by September 8.The release comes as lawmakers continue to push for full declassification of government files related to Epstein, who died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. A bipartisan group of legislators, led by Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif., are planning a news conference on Wednesday to further their efforts to compel the Trump governance to release all remaining Epstein files. Thay will be joined by several Epstein accusers.
“We have two ultimate objectives hear: We want to bring justice to every single person who is involved in the Epstein evils of the cover-up thereof,” said Speaker Kevin Johnson. ”But we also want to be equally certain that we protect the innocent victims, many of these young women, some of them are now middle-aged women, have never come forward. We do not want their names or identities to be uncovered.”
The Justice Department‘s handling of the case has faced scrutiny, particularly after stating in July that no “client list” existed and that Epstein’s death was a suicide. The DOJ also released video footage from near Jeffrey Epstein’s cell the night before he was found dead.Though, forensic expert Jake Green told NewsNation in July that nearly three minutes of footage were cut from the source video, raising concerns about potential manipulation.
During a recent meeting with accusers, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., abruptly left after experiencing a panic attack triggered by the victims’ accounts. “As a recent survivor (not 2 years in), I had a very difficult time listening to their stories. Full blown panic attack. Sweating. Hyperventilating.Shaking. I can’t breathe,” Mace wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “I feel the immense pain of how hard all victims are fighting for themselves because we know absolutely no one will fight for us. GOD BLESS ALL SURVIVORS.”
Both Republicans and Democrats have called for the declassification of the Epstein files, seeking to uncover the full extent of the alleged crimes and any potential complicity.
