New Epstein Files Name Elon Musk, Prince Andrew Amid Calls for Further Disclosure
Newly released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activity reveal interactions with Elon Musk and Prince Andrew, adding to a growing list of prominent figures connected to the disgraced financier. The files detail a planned meeting between Musk and Epstein in 2015, and multiple references to Prince Andrew, including travel arrangements.
The documents do not suggest those mentioned were aware of Epstein’s alleged criminal activity. Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Epstein first reached a plea deal with prosecutors in 2008 after being accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl at his Palm Beach home. He was later arrested again in July 2019 on sex trafficking charges.
The release of these files has sparked renewed calls for transparency. Sara guerrero, a spokesperson for the democrats on the committee overseeing the document release, urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to release more related materials.”It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world. Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims,” she said.
Republicans on the committee countered the Democrats’ statements, accusing them of “putting politics over victims” and promising to release the full set of documents in the near future.
The released files also mention planned meetings with other high-profile individuals, including Peter thiel (November 2017) and Steve Bannon (February 17, 2019). A December 2014 entry references tentative plans for a breakfast party with Microsoft founder bill Gates, who later told the BBC that meeting Epstein had been a “mistake.”
