Epic Games is delaying the release of the new season of Fortnite – Rugby news

Epic Games has postponed the release of its new Fortnite season until June.

Chapter 2, Season 3 of Fortnite should be released in just two weeks, but the company said it would instead extend the current season.

Fortnite is one of the most popular video games in the world and attracts millions of players and viewers.

Epic Games would not say why the delay occurred or whether it is related to corona virus restrictions that forced developers to work from home.

However, this is not the first time that Fortnite has pushed back a season’s release.

Every season brings updates and changes to the games to keep players busy. Fortnite’s goal, like all Battle Royal games, is to be the last player, even though players work in teams for most of the game.

In one Blog post , announcing the season three delay, the Fortnite team announced plans to expand the current season and add new features.

“We have several game updates along the way that include fresh gameplay, new challenges, bonus XP [Erfahrungspunkte] and offer a few more surprises, ”the company wrote.

The first season of Chapter 2, launched in October 2019, took months longer than predicted because developers had multiple delays.

Despite the sometimes slow release of updates, Fortnite is still popular. As with other e-sports and online games, the number of players has also increased when the corona virus was blocked.

“A delay could affect the audience of [Fortnite] impact, just like other popular games plateau between updates, but ultimately stop, ”said Doron Nir, co-founder of live streaming service provider StreamElements.

This is not the first delay the industry has experienced during the Corona virus outbreak.

Game developers can work from home, but there are limitations. Most developers do not have the same processing and graphics performance on their home computers as they do at work. Many companies also require developers to follow strict guidelines to keep new games secret. This can prevent certain updates from happening outside of a company’s office.

Epic Games would not comment on the BBC on the reason for this delay.
