In Morocco, the launch of a demolition program for houses threatening ruin and landscaping of the hill overlooking the Corniche de Merkala aims to enhance the heritage of the old medina of Tangier.
This operation, which is part of the Reinforcement and treatment program for buildings threatening ruin in the old medina of Tangier, aims to preserve the lives of citizens through the establishment of a system of support focused on rehousing and resettlement, explains the Wilaya in a press release.

The said Program aims to give a new image of the hill and particularly of the El Hafa district, by a landscaping embellishment in perfect harmony with the development works carried out along the belt of the hill, also relating to the creation of green spaces and pedestrian walkways leading to the Merkala ledge, adds the same source. And to specify that this project is carried out by the Wilaya of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region in cooperation with its institutional partners.
