Now he’s on trial. <!– An entrepreneur from the Lower Rhine is said to have supplied a drug laboratory with raw materials. Today the 67-year-old has to go to court in Krefeld for aiding and abetting drug trafficking. He is said to have supplied tons of chemicals for synthetic drug production. According to the indictment, amphetamines for the drug ecstasy were produced with a value of 16.5 million euros. – The entrepreneur resold the chemicals to the Dutch drug producers through a 55-year-old co-defendant from Mönchengladbach. The two defendants are said to have made a profit of around 300,000 euros each. – The head of the company has admitted trading in the chemicals. He does not want to have known anything about the illegal use. Investigators had been tracking the men for more than two years. In mid-July 2020, the police struck and arrested the company boss and his alleged accomplice. – The investigators found them out through a case of illegally disposed of chemical waste. In April 2018, toxic waste containers were found in the German-Dutch border area, which led to the company of the now accused entrepreneur. A total of seven days of negotiations are scheduled for the process until April 22nd. – © dpa-infocom, dpa: 210128-99-211757 / 3 – – .
