It was nice to see Glik canceling Grealish and harassing him like the class robber of the weakest student in the class with the words “F * ck off”. It was fun to admire Krychowiak, who rose to the highest representative level. Modera, who noted pickup after pickup, and with the goal at 1: 1, acted like a top player. Overall, the entire defense, which they played very responsibly, was tight, allowing almost nothing. Pendulums that were able to neutralize Sterling or Shaw, and Lewandowski, who, as a suspended striker and leader, earned an outstanding score. And finally Szymański, who made a beautiful statement in the history of our staff.

POLAND – ENGLAND 1: 1. THE PERFECT FIRST HALF
We had a very certain start to the match. There were aggressive pickups, Dawidowicz’s threatening cross, after which the volley of Puchacz, flying into the light of the goal, was taken by one of the Englishmen. In defense, Jóźwiak did his job, he made life difficult for Grealish. Krychowiak did not disappoint either, indeed, after the first fragments of the match, fears of a player so undermined could be thrown into the basket. Virtually each of our representatives played as if they had something to prove. He played at the maximum level of concentration. Significantly, the English could not take any free action with short passes.
In the 15th minute, we created a nice action with several players from the defensive block to the penalty area, where unfortunately Jakub Moder hit the goal too lightly. Moments after that, Krychowiak charged in our penalty area, sacrificingly blocking the shot from the great position of Grealish. Oh, “Krycha” was loaded like kabanos today. Anyway, like all Poles on the defensive, the English could not win the duels with us. And as they got closer to sixteen, when Kane was trying to play the ball somewhere in the back, we saw an instant doubling and even tripling and a tackle. Kane was effectively neutralized.
Soon after Buksa was quite close to creating a threat, who lacked centimeters to finish the great cross of Puchacz. It was the action again after the pickup and the perpendicular pass to the wing. We created a lot of them in the first half, most often just after the acceptance.
Puchacz lost the first duel only in the 20th minute with Sterling. It was the first serious signal that the English could slowly break our organization in defense. But, as time showed, the last signal before going to the locker room.
We played pressing intelligently, we had an idea. At certain points in the match, we forced the English to make mistakes in playing from the back. The pressure on Walker or Stones worked, especially the latter had problems. Thanks to this, we created an action in which Linetty threw a perpendicular pass into the penalty area to Lewandowski, but he gave a light shot, he had a very difficult situation. Before that, he used force, distributed the action and entered between the three defenders. It is worth appreciating the guest who made the key check-up a moment earlier. This is Jakub Moder. He also retrieved the ball a minute later, but he got so excited that he sent the ball into the stands from a distance.
Our aggression and movement without the ball could make an impression. Each of our central midfielders made a mark with something positive, there were no breaches or weaknesses. When Sterling or Grealish were carrying the ball, they switched on a higher pace on the wings, none of the Poles were fooled by the balance of the body. We were close, we made contact, but not all at once. Combined with the fact that we were creating a threat under the English goal, and they were not really under ours – it must be said that we played perfectly until the break. And certainly beyond expectations.
It was only in the last minutes of the first half that the “Sons of Albion” put more pressure on us, but that was to be expected. There were few mistakes on our part, only one wrong throw of Glik’s ball could have cost us a lot, although Phillips missed the interception and ruined his pass to Kane.
Oh, and a word summarizing our captain’s game in the first 45 minutes. Lewandowski played great, he did a titanic job. He showed that he would have no problem with the defenders of the Premier League.
POLAND – ENGLAND. WORSE SECOND HALF BUT A DESERVED DRAW
In the 53rd minute, the English made the first on-target shot and let this be a good review of our defense. Unfortunately, the pressure of the English grew with every minute, there was more free space on our wings. Sterling could afford more in his clashes with Eagle Owl, and on the other side Grealish tried to bite. There, however, Jóźwiak and Dawidowicz were up to the challenge in most situations. Okay, we defended ourselves more and more selflessly, Glik and Bednarek suffered. In the offensive we disappeared for a good 20 minutes in the first half, some speed was missing, which Buks could not give (Świderski came in). Nevertheless, Southgate’s charges still had problems getting to our skin. Only once did they hit post by head from a fixed piece of the game.
Only once did Kane hit from a distance. Once, but how… We lost the ball around 30 meters, Kane got a pass and it would seem that he is in an inconspicuous place to shoot. But he corrected the ball and banged with such a rotation that before Szczęsny managed to see the ball from behind Bednarek’s back, it spun towards the post and fluttered in the net. It was a goal for nothing.
In the following parts of the second half, we were weakening. We rarely saw Lewandowski at the ball, Glik had to leave the field due to an injury. The only player who contributed something to the offensive before the change was Puchacz. He cannot be denied bravery for today, sometimes won battles with Sterling and promising plays from the front.
Pickford gave us great hopes for an equalizing goal when he beat Świderski while trying to kick. The batted ball was flying towards the goal, but the Everton goalkeeper managed to catch it. Well, there was no luck here. Precision, on the other hand, when shooting “Left”, when he shot from a distance after a brilliant reception of the ball …
But with the assistance, nothing was missing! We pushed the English to the ground in the last minutes, we played for an equalizer. And it was the one, who worked so hard in this match, and at the end pulled us like the best footballer in the world, threw an undercut cross on the fifth meter, where Damian Szymański put the ball into the net with his header. He came on the pitch behind Krychowiak, gave a good change, and in the end he won a key duel in the air with Shaw. And yet he might not have been there …
The hero on the scoreboard will therefore be one, but during the match many were born. It cannot be said that we were lucky. No, we simply earned this success, a draw with the runners-up in Europe. Shit, we deserved this point. The English only had a shot at the post and one flash from Kane, and perhaps Grealish’s inaccurate center shot. So much for their offensive, more specific aspirations.
We leave the pitch with our heads held high, we stood up to the English with conviction, an idea. Who knows, maybe if the game lasted five minutes longer, it would have been possible to hit the goal 2: 1. The important thing is that we survived the tougher moment in the second half, we looked weaker, but showed character at the crucial moment. We want to watch such a Poland with strong rivals. Such results undoubtedly build her after such a good performance. Finally, it should be noted that after the September training camp we have seven points on our account. We have fulfilled the goal of the maximum. Applause for the players, applause for the manager.
