Energy: Petition against the Quatre Bornes wind farm – Switzerland

More than 1,300 signatures – not collected online – were collected against the Quatre Bornes wind farm. The petition has been filed with the municipalities of Sonvilier (BE), St-Imier (BE) and Val-de-Ruz (NE), affected by the project.

“The residents of the Quatre Bornes wind power project refuse to allow this industrial installation to jeopardize the natural and landscape heritage of Chasseral,” said the Sauvez l’Echelette association on Thursday evening.

For the petitioners, “an industrial wind power plant of ten giant machines is planned, while this sector is now used for soft tourism and biodiversity and the landscape are preserved there. Failure to comply with the landscape criteria, necessary for the renewal of the Chasseral Park label, could jeopardize its recognition by the federal authorities and thereby its funding ”.

Among the signatories to the petition, 228 are direct residents. “The wind power project is therefore unanimously opposed to him among those who would have to suffer noisy monsters 200 meters high next to their house,” added the petitioners.

Investigation

“The project poses serious questions in connection with the vote on the district plan which will be held soon in the town of Sonvilier. The result will be strongly influenced by the residents of Sonvilier residing in the valley, while the nuisances will particularly affect residents at the top of the town. ”

“Worse still, residents living in the towns of St-Imier and Val-de-Ruz will not have a say when they are the first to be affected,” added the petitioners.

The Quatre Bornes wind farm project entered a crucial phase on Monday with the public deposit in the town of Sonvilier. It plans to install ten turbines, including seven in the territory of the municipality of the Bernese Jura. The file is publicly presented until March 3. The project is supported by the authorities.
